who i am
What has fascinated me lifelong is what people think and feel, how they view their choices in life, the actions they take, and ultimately the decisions they make. Years ago I became a registered nurse as the clearest path to learning about and working with people in a meaningful way.
Working in public health and psychiatry I was able to be of support to people when they were in crisis and often vulnerable and frightened. When I began working in Chemical Dependency, I witnessed transformation. People changed their thinking, took new actions, made revolutionary decisions, and the outcomes were breathtaking. They were changed and so indeed was I.
When I had the opportunity to design and direct an outpatient Food Dependency program built on an addiction model, I was again deeply moved by people’s recovery. I have been in private practice since then working with people recovering from addiction to food, alcohol, and drugs. I lend support to people with other behavioral addictions and those impacted by growing up in an addicted family. I am a professional coach, certified by the International Coach Federation, focused on the issues of recovery.
I am privileged to do this work. I deeply honor the courage it takes you to change your life. I commit to hearing your goals and partnering with you to reach them. My breadth of experience is balanced by an open mind and receptive heart.
